WE Remember Chuck Brown....

We Remember Chuck Brown
Words By Raymond Tyler

Chuck Brown did not invent GO GO Music but for more than 20 years Brown defined it and was the face of DC Go Go Music to the world.

His influence reached beyond Baltimore, DC, and Go Go Music.

The sound of Chuck Brown and The Soul Searchers could be heard on hip hop classics like Salt N Pepa's My Mic Sound Nice and the We Need Some Money remix to Eric B and Rakim's Paid In Full.
We will have more on Chuck Brown, Please Believe.

All that we can say right now is that he will be missed.

POT....If You Forget Me By Pablo Neruda

Poem Of Today
If You Forget Me by Pablo Neruda

I Always keep a little Pablo Neruda near by.
His words remind me that the moon still sings silently
even at noon
even when we can't see it
our heart knows
it's there.
Those are my pale words inspired by Pablo Neruda who IS the defining of the words
MASTER POET-Raymond Tyler

IF You Forget Me As read by Madonna

If You Forget Me

I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine.

The Little Wellness Arts Center Remembers Maurice Sendak

Mr. Mayrice Sendak known best for WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE.

Wild Things has been one of the most popular children's books since it was first published in 1963.

I myself found out about the incredible dark and funny story telling of Mr. Sendak when I saw the CBS Special REALLY ROSIE that was based on Sendak's 1962 book.

From the first time I saw it to this day the cartoon special which has been performed by kids in plays across the country speaks to the kid in all of us.

Really Rosie speaks to the inner child in almost all aspects the selfish Pierre, the adventurous One Was Johnny and the curious WHO KILLED CHICKEN SOUP to the silly with Allegators All Around.

It sure didn't hurt that Carole King killed the sound track as Rosie....

Maurice Sendak will be missed by children everywhere, and kids of all ages...especially me..

Maurice Sendak was 83.
