Good Night Ruby Dee Words By Raymond Tyler

It is with heavy heart that I report you our readers that yet another artist which was the inspiration for The Little Wellness Arts Center has moved on.

It is being reported that Ms. Ruby Dee born October 27, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio passed away late last night.

Dee was known for being the wife of the late activist Ossie Davis. Dee was herself a writer, actress and activist of note.

Most prominently Dee was known for playing the wife in The Broadway and film versions of A Raisin In The Sun.

We will have much more as details become available.

Rakim In Philly Today

Every year on the first Sunday in June is Odunde in Philadelphia.

A day long festival celebrating the love of African and Black Culture.

For more than 10 years I have attended.

Expect a great free festival that spans more than 6 city blocks in Philadelphia.

Headlining this year is the one and only RAKIM.

Where else can you go and see a free concert featuring a hip hop icon like RAKIM?
