Louis Scheimer (October 19, 1928 - October 17, 2013) was an Emmy and Grammy Award–winning American producer, one of the original founders of Filmation, an animation company, and also credited as an executive producer of many of its cartoons.
Personally as a child, I recall my brother Mark and I spending hours being inspired by the long list of Filmation shows from Fat Albert to Super Friends to rushing home every day after school to watch He Man.
As an adult when I heard Mr. Scheimer tell his story of how in 1966 he faked his way through a meeting with DC comics to launch the first ever newly produced Saturday Morning cartoon, it inspired the business man in me.
When DC gave Filmation the reigns to make The New Adventures of Super Man it changed cartoon and broadcasting history forever.
Filmation and Mr. Scheimer's success is proof that every one does not hit their peek at 20, and that sometimes when you are so close to giving up...world changing opportunity can be at hand.
It's best to hit the video and listen to the funny story of how Filmation was built around The New Adventures Of Super Man.
I just want to say thanks Mr. Scheimer for all of the inspiration, laughs, and adventures through the years.
Raymond Tyler
I suggest this clip for any one in any business. It is funny but very inspiring.
