Let's Do It Again...Words By Raymond Tyler
School Daze is Spike Lee's second feature film and was released 1988.
Over the years the film has been regarded as everything from a classic film, to a film meant to divide people of color based on light and dark skin, in a sketch on In Living Color people claimed "I didn't go to an all Black College. I didn't get it."

School Daze also introduced Ossie Davis to a new generation, and presented brilliant early performances by Laurence Fishburn and Giancarlo Esposito.
The biggest impact I remember School Daze making was on The Cosby Show Spin Off, A DIFFERENT WORLD. The NBC hit TV Series presented A Different World presented life at a historically black college however, compared to the super real portrayal of life and issues in SCHOOL DAZE, A Different World started to progressively get more serious and diverse starting with season 2.
School Daze is like a moving history book that look at divestment from South Africa, pledging fraternities and their female friends, parties, and more.
The film takes place around homecoming 1988.
Now Lee has announced that there will be sequel.
Lee hopes that he can secure Fishburn to reprise his role has Vaughn Dunlap who is now The President of Mission College.

Lee has even suggested that this time around he will look at homophobia.
In a world where most films tell you to blow stuff up....I can't wait for the sequel to School Daze a film that made me want to open a book (and do Da Butt.)
