The Little WAC Remembers Sid Caesar

The world has lost one of it's most brilliant comedy minds.

It has just been reported that comic/producer and television icon
Sid Caesar has passed away.

Before Saturday Night Live, Mad TV , In Living Color....Sid Caesar created the variety show "Your Show Of Shows" that combined music with a healthy does of sketch comedy.

Your Show Of Shows had on staff several of Caesar's fellow icon's including Neil Simon, Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks. Caesar's wife Imogene Coco was also a major part of the show's success.

Your Show Of Shows ran from 1950 to 1954, however the influence of the show will be felt forever.

I doubt that anyone with a notion to write any kind of material could watch Your Show Of Shows and not be influenced by the cadre of free flowing and funny ideas.

Sid Caesar went on to influence generations of comics, writers, variety show and television producers in the years since he pioneered early TV.

Caesar starred in various films, TV shows and stage plays through out his career.

Mr. Isaac Sidney "Sid" Caesar  was born September 8, 1922 and died late last night (February 12, 2014) he was 91.

The Little WAC will have more on his life and influence in the days to come.
